Lockball is out!

Hey everyone, this is Jamie! Yesterday marked the release of Pongspin’s first major update, the Lockball update! (or v2.0 if you want to get technical)

Yes, I did go to Home Depot and buy light bulbs just for this.

This update adds the new unlockbable “Lockball” game mode, alongside some improvements in existing ones. I’ve given a run-down on the gameplay in the previous blog post but I’ll explain it again here.

In Lockball, the ball and paddle cannot move at the same time. So, when the ball is “locked,” you must predict where the ball will collide with the core and lock your paddle in that position within a certain period of time. It’s pretty simple but it can get pretty tough!

This update also adds four new Steam achievements, three of which are unlocked in Lockball (the last one is hidden somewhere else!), so if you love achievement hunting, today is your lucky day!

Of course, this isn’t the only major update we have planned for Pongspin, we have a few more game modes up our sleeves that we hope to introduce throughout the end of this year and the first half of 2024.

But until next time, please let us know what you think! Leave your thoughts in our YouTube comments, Steam discussions or where ever you go share your opinions about weird radial pong games, thanks for reading!
